Conference of the National Association of Non-standard Transport Carriers
October 21, 2014 took place in Lodz organized by the Polish Association of Non-standard Transport Carriers (OSPTN) the first open conference for people associated with the oversized transport industry.
The Polish Association of Non-standard Transport Carriers poses new challenges and goals. The development prospects have expanded the accession of OSPTN to ESTA - the European Non-standard Transport Association. One of the main assumptions of the OSPTN is to take an active part in public consultations regarding new legal regulations.
The conference gathered over 120 representatives of companies from the oversized transport sector, who once again proved that the fate of non-normative transports is not indifferent to them, demonstrated commitment and interest confirming the sense of organizing such meetings. There were also owners of companies, employees, pilots and senders, as well as companies offering specialist equipment or services for heavy transport and representatives of vehicle manufacturers.
The conference began with the welcome of the participants, during which the President of the Association, Mr. Lukasz Chwalczuk, presented the framework plan of the meeting and encouraged everyone to open questions and present problems that not only carriers need to deal with, but also pilots, forwarders and vehicle manufacturers. The conference was filled with presentations of equipment and services, the advantages of which were presented by the Conference partners.
As the first one, Mr. Robert Karolczak from Shell, and his lecture concerned the presentation of the network of gas stations and fuel cards.
The next speaker was Mr. Zbigniew Kołodziej from DAF, who presented the latest tractors of the Dutch truck company.
Great interest was aroused by the presentation of the latest technological solutions used in low-loader Faymonville semitrailers, which were discussed by Krzysztof Bartosik.
Colmec - a tire manufacturer and the company Pewag producing chain pulls also presented their offer.
Mr. Rafał Pluta from Gras Savoye presented details of the insurance offer dedicated to the heavy transport sector.
To apply effective IT solutions, he encouraged Mr. Patryk Grzelak from InterLan to discuss the software offer for forwarding companies.
Thanks to the Schwerlast company and the appearance of your Aleksandra and Rafał Ledwig, conference listeners could familiarize themselves with the current regulations regarding transport permits and the rules of their issuing by the European Union countries.
Those interested in economical driving could get acquainted with the ECO Driving Academy offer.
Unfortunately, at the conference, despite previous assurances, a representative of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development did not appear, however, thanks to the presence of Ms Halina Beń from the General Directorate of Roads and Motorways, we managed to discuss not only the deviations from the technical conditions of vehicles, but also the divisibility of loads and other important aspects for the industry. The speech of Ms. Halina Beń attracted a lot of attention from the participants, since she was associated with the association from the very beginning of its existence, and her tips and substantive analysis of the problems helped many times in our activities.
The conference participants also took an active part in the discussion on the application of German paragraph 70, as well as an open debate on the current situation of oversized carriers in Poland.
During the coffee breaks, the participants had the opportunity to maintain existing business relationships and establish new ones. There were also many informal discussions about presentations presented at the conference.
OSPTN President p. Łukasz Chwalczuk promised to take appropriate actions to be in constant contact with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Restructuring and the General Directorate of Roads and Motorways, in particular with the Department of Road and Bridge Management.
We recommend everyone to attend OSPTN conferences. Their substantive value and the possibility of obtaining current information on the oversize transport market is invaluable.
